I thought a number of folks would like to hear about this since a good chunk of our clients have localized businesses.  Our friends over at Dr PC Fix were having a grand opening in Bellevue for Computer Repair and were looking for a way to drive some people to the store.  We thought it would be a good time to try out a facebook ad.

We setup the ad according to best practices, setup a few versions, put a nice call to action in the body, and we narrowed the demographic pretty tightly to actually only people in the city of Bellevue.  Looking back we probably could have made some secondary ads with lower bids in surrounding areas as well, but that ship has sailed.

All you local businesses will appreciate this - by 4pm that day, our $200 daily spending limit was almost reached - 15 people had come in to the store via facebook ads.

Do your $200 marketing campaigns usually bring that many people? There were over 200 clicks on the ads, which means 200 times people left the facebook site and visited the page of their choice on their website.  That alone is going to bump up the monthly traffic for that site quite a bit.

We've been doing lots of ongoing work tweaking this campaign, this snapshot of the traffic graph shows that the visits per day are well up from 30-40 visits to over 50 per day, and we have it turned down to around $3/day at this time.

Pretty interesting stuff - we always use all of our experience working for our clients when we do a project like this, we have a few other facebook ad marketing campaigns rolling - but we're allowed to share lots of details about this one.

Enjoy - give us a call or email if you want to talk about having us setup a campaign for you!

As always - this is something you could do yourself, but the success will lay in the tracking you setup so you can tell what these new visitors do on your site - and you track conversions.

Send to a custom landing page for facebook, with a different phone number so you can track form/call conversions.
